President Bola Tinubu Affirms His Commitment to Transforming Nigeria

President Bola Tinubu has expressed his unwavering commitment to changing the narrative of Nigeria for the betterment of all Nigerians. He made this declaration during a press briefing following the culmination of the lesser Hajj, Umrah, in Makkah, Saudi Arabia on Sunday.

Tinubu emphasized that his administration is resolute in altering the course of the nation through a series of reforms, programs, and policies aimed at ultimately benefiting its citizens. He stated, “The prospect of the country is yet to blossom to the level that we require. It needs hard work and consistent prayers by every one of us. We are committed to using our strength to unlock this potential for the benefit of all Nigerians.”

He also extended his gratitude to God for His guidance and blessings, and for answering the prayers of the nation and its people. He remarked, “I have to give thanks to God at every opportunity.”

Tinubu’s visit to Makkah included the performance of the lesser Hajj, or Umrah, which is conducted by Muslims at various times throughout the year. It should not be confused with the Hajj, which is performed during the specific month of Hajj in the Islamic calendar.

During his stay in Makkah, President Tinubu was hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and accompanied by a special cleric from the King’s palace to guide him through the circumambulation of the Kaaba. The rituals involved circling the Kaaba seven times and moving back and forth between Safa and Marwa seven times.

Notably, several high-ranking government officials, including governors from Bauchi, Niger, and Katsina states, as well as the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning and the NNPCL Group Chief Executive Officer, participated in the ritual alongside the president.

President Tinubu’s visit to Saudi Arabia coincided with the Saudi-Africa summit, attended by African leaders and members of the business community from both countries.
